Job Title: Business Admin Apprentice/ Float secretary

I am a Business Admin Apprentice/ Float secretary based in the Valuations department. The advantages of being a float secretary are that you get to work with a large proportion of the business and meet a wide variety of people.

Being a float secretary involves me working with different departments each week helping the secretaries and support staff with a variety of tasks. I cover secretaries when they are absent which means I often work for senior directors.

What made you decide on a career in property?

Personally, I loved the diversity. There are so many different paths you can go down in the property industry whether it’s surveying, data analysis and marketing. Researching property really helped as it gave me an idea of what is out there and the skills I need to build on to get there.

We need to raise awareness for the job prospects available within the property industry for my generation. Initially, I was unsure what I wanted to do in terms of a career path when I left school. As I became aware of the property industry, I became fascinated by the amount of choice out there.
